Lip Filler and Dermal Fillers in Regina

Lip filler and dermal fillers both use hyaluronic acid, a substance the body produces naturally, to restore volume and refine facial structure. Our clinicians place filler conservatively, with the objective of a result that reads as proportionate rather than treated.

THE MOST REQUESTED TREATMENT

Lip Filler in Regina

Lip filler is the most frequently requested injectable treatment at our clinic. Placed correctly, hyaluronic acid restores volume lost to age, corrects asymmetry, and defines the vermillion border without altering the proportions of the surrounding face.

Clinical indications:
•Age-related volume loss in the lip body
•Asymmetry between the upper and lower lip
•Poor definition at the vermillion border
•Vertical lip lines and compromised lip texture

Where a concern falls outside what filler can address, such as pigmentation or a heavy upper lip better suited to a lip flip, we will say so at consultation and recommend the appropriate treatment instead.

DOSING

How Much Lip Filler Is Required

Volume requirements are typically lower than patients anticipate.

0.5 ml (half syringe): subtle hydration and border definition, appropriate for a first treatment.
1.0 ml (one syringe): the standard first treatment for most patients, visible yet conservative.
Maintenance: most patients return periodically to sustain the result.

Our clinical preference is to under-treat and review rather than place a full correction in a single appointment. Overfilled lips are considerably more difficult to correct than under-filled lips.

CHOOSING

Lip Filler, Lip Flip, or Fotona LipLase

Three treatments address the lips through different mechanisms.

Lip filler adds hyaluronic acid volume and definition, and lasts TK months.
•A lip flip uses a neuromodulator to evert the upper lip and reduce gingival display on smiling. It adds no volume and lasts two to three months.
Fotona LipLase uses laser energy to stimulate collagen for needle-free plumping, improving fullness, texture and colour.

Where the appropriate treatment is unclear, this is determined at consultation. Combination treatment is common.

LONGEVITY

How Long Lip Filler Lasts

Lips metabolise filler more rapidly than the rest of the face because of constant movement. Expect TK months for lips, and six to eighteen months for cheeks, jawline and chin. Longevity depends on the product used, the volume placed, individual metabolism and exercise frequency.

Hyaluronic acid filler can also be dissolved. Hyaluronidase, an enzyme, breaks down the product and can be used to soften an over-corrected area, address migration, or remove the treatment entirely. We provide filler dissolving and correction as a standalone service, including for filler placed at other clinics.

BEYOND THE LIPS

Cheek, Jawline, Chin and Folds

The same hyaluronic acid gels restore structure elsewhere in the face, and lip treatment often forms one part of a broader plan. Cheek volume replacement softens the nasolabial folds indirectly, while jawline and chin filler define the lower face in profile.

For non-surgical profile refinement we use liquid rhinoplasty to contour the nasal bridge. Filler is often paired with botox and wrinkle relaxers to address dynamic lines. Where the goal is skin quality rather than structure, skin boosters are the better option, and a more defined lower face can combine volume with fat dissolving treatments.

RECOVERY

Swelling and Healing, Day by Day

Post-treatment swelling follows a predictable course.

Days 1 to 2: swelling peaks. The lips will appear larger than the settled result and may feel firm or irregular on palpation.
Days 3 to 5: swelling substantially resolves. Bruising, where it occurs, typically presents during this window.
Days 7 to 14: the product integrates with surrounding tissue. The result visible at two weeks is the final result.

Aftercare: avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, sleep with the head elevated on the first night, apply ice intermittently, and avoid alcohol and heat exposure (sauna, hot yoga) for 48 hours.

Contact the clinic immediately in the event of blanching of the skin, pain that increases rather than settles, or mottled discolouration of the treated area. These presentations are uncommon but require prompt assessment.
